Beautiful Chip From Little Known Club By The Bay

Other than having opened in 1992, little is known about this card room by the Suisun Bay docks East of San Francisco. What is known is that they are a beautiful set of chips with a simple but elegant inlay of a sailboat...possibly paying homage to the bay and docks from where the club was located. All three of the denominations are extremely hard to find with the $5 chip being the rarest of them all.

CARD ROOM HISTORY

Curious Case Of A Card Room

This location by the San Francisco Bay was previously a card room called The Corner Club that opened in 1969 under the ownership of Edward J. and Mary Farley. The room and license were bought in 1977 by Constantino Papionnou who ran the club until it was remodeled and renamed Casino Marina in 1992. There is some uncertainty as to how long this club was actually open, but advertisements definitively state its grand opening as Dec 5th, 1992. How long it was open is up to debate with some saying just one year and others stating four.

 CHIP SUMMATION

The club had had some very colorful chips with the image of a sailboat on all 3 denominations. Being so close to the bay this seems fitting as well as making for a very pretty chip. All 3 denominations are extremely hard to find.
